ROMANTIC EDWARDIAN-INSPIRED JEWELRY
I’ve always had a soft spot for Edwardian design, delicate silhouettes, lace-like details, and that romantic vintage feel that never goes out of style. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to bring a lot of those inspirations to life through custom projects, blending timeless Edwardian elements with my clients’ personal styles.
The Edwardian period, named for King Edward VII of England, spanned the early 1900's, a time when jewelry became softer, more refined, and incredibly detailed. You’ll often see airy openwork, intricate filigree, and milgrain beading, all designed to create a light, lace-like appearance. Platinum and white gold became more common, setting the stage for sparkling diamonds, pearls, and colored gemstones to take center stage.
What I love most about Edwardian jewelry is how beautifully it blends with other eras. Many designs borrow bold Art Deco lines or carry over the ornate scrollwork of the Victorian era, creating these gorgeous crossovers that feel both vintage and entirely unique.
Here’s a look at a few of my favorite custom designs inspired by Edwardian style.
Lace-Inspired Openwork & Filigree
Lace-like detailing is one of the most recognizable Edwardian elements, delicate, feminine, and beautifully intricate.
This dainty diamond band blends vintage lace-like openwork with shimmering diamonds and fine milgrain edging. The airy negative space lets glimpses of skin peek through for a delicate, graceful finish.

This next design is one of my favorite examples of delicate openwork. The elongated silhouette and lace-inspired details give it a classic Edwardian feel, while the warm Precious Imperial Topaz adds a soft, personal touch.

Soft Curves & Romantic Silhouettes
Edwardian jewelry is known for its flowing shapes, soft curves, and graceful outlines. Consider this tiara-style silhouette; a romantic ring with a pear-cut Alexandrite that shifts color in the light. It's framed by delicate milgrain accents and elegant curves, a subtle nod to Edwardian design with a unique twist.

Delicate Milgrain & Intricate Edges
Milgrain beading is a signature Edwardian detail, adding soft texture and character, but it does more than that. In this intricate design, the milgrain edges frame the sparkling pear-shaped diamond, highlight the delicate accents, and define the fleur-de-lis detail, becoming an integral part of the overall look. The result is feminine, romantic, and full of vintage charm.

Blending Eras with Personal Style
Edwardian design has always been shaped by the eras around it, and some of my favorite pieces blend influences from both the Art Deco and Victorian periods.
This next design is a great example. It’s a bold little mix of eras, combining striking Art Deco lines with soft Edwardian milgrain accents. Paired with tapered baguette diamonds, it strikes the perfect balance of structure and vintage elegance.
Ceylon Sapphire Baguette Ring
This next design is more dramatic, blending delicate Edwardian milgrain with bold Victorian scrollwork, showing how vintage influences can come together in unexpected ways. The ornate curves and rich detailing nod to the romantic, symbolic style of the Victorian era, while the refined milgrain edges keep the look delicate and balanced. It’s proof that Edwardian-inspired pieces can be both romantic and a little daring.

Ornate Scrollwork & Regal Details
Edwardian jewelry often drew inspiration from historic royal motifs and the era’s love of intricate craftsmanship. One of the most distinctive design elements is scrollwork; graceful, flowing curves carved or sculpted into the metal to create ornate, almost lace-like patterns. These swirling details add movement and depth, giving each piece a soft, romantic feel with a touch of vintage grandeur.
This striking Edwardian-inspired example has a vivid oval emerald framed by ornate vintage scrollwork, diamond and emerald accents, and graceful details reminiscent of antique royal jewelry.
Regal Emerald Scrollwork Ring
The regal influence doesn’t stop there. One of my favorite symbols from historic royal design is the Fleur de Lis, a timeless emblem of elegance and strength. This romantic ruby ring brings that detail to life, with bold vintage styling and a rich pop of color that feels both classic and eye-catching.

These are just a few examples of how vintage design comes to life. It’s always the little details that make a piece special. I love creating them, and I hope you’ve enjoyed them too.
